* Liquor licence through NCC or TDC
|
* New liquor license criteria, you can apply for several events at the same time reducing cost of license, just has to be the same bar manager at both events and similar amount of people attending.
* Ask for contacts from parents as may be good resources within kindergarten/centre families. |

...A-Thons (wheel, scooter, walk, run, climb etc)
|
* Work in conjunction with teaching team.
* Organise a suitable date. * Promote through parent. * Children get sponsored to complete so many rounds, laps etc. * Encourage sponsorship from outside the family such as neighbours, geographically distant relatives etc. * Produce sponsor forms. * May want to sell food/drinks, have a raffle. * Have event. * Collect money. |
* Can do sausage sizzle.
* Home made pizzas -making money on them. * Pre-order food in with a small margin of profit to Kindergarten. * Include all family members - older and younger siblings. |
Themed Raffles (Christmas, Easter, Mothers Day & Fathers Day)
|
* Organise a theme
* Ask for donations from parents. * Ask for donations from community. * Promote the raffle with posters. * Make up raffle tickets or buy books from store. * Organise to stand outside local shops to sell tickets. * Give each parent x number of books to take and sell. * Keep track of all tickets that are distributed. * Draw raffle. |
* Get a letter from Kindergarten promoting good things that the money will go towards so businesses are more likely to donate.
* Build relationships with local businesses so they have an ongoing relationship with kindergarten -more likely to support your efforts. * Keep ticket prices realistic and enjoy that more money will be raised than the value of the prize. |
Calendars,
Photos, Entertainment Books, Tea Towels, Catalogues |
* Discuss with the teaching team if it could be fitted in the programme.
* Contact appropriate company (see next column) * Company involved will generally give guidelines about how to organise. |

Garden Trails
|
* Can get a service club to organise it and give you the proceeds.
* They will do all the advertising and organising. * You may need to sell x number of tickets or be ticket sales agent. |
* Nelson Lioness Club
* Soroptomist clubs |
Firewood
|
* Through forestry companies where people come in and cut their own and pay you per trailer load.
* Contact company. * Man area on set day and collect money. |
* Not as many around due to open fire ban.
* Better for more rural Kindergartens. * May need to chase up forestry companies to see if they will allow it. |
Bake Off
|
* Parents all compete against each other to bake a cake and then the cakes get auctioned off.
* Set a date with Staff when the Kindergarten will be free. * Decide what other things can happen at the same event to draw the people there. * Advertise to parents with guidelines about what they have to bake. * Prepare judges or auctioneer. |
* Potential to raise funds from other things at the same event.
* Can be prizes for best cakes. Great way to get Dads involved. * Might like to sell raffle tickets and organise a raffle. * Money raised is from auctioning cakes. |
Children's Art Auction
|
* Similar to bake off above but children do art work
which is nicely presented and sold/auctioned off. |
